Let Jay bring The Squibbles®, hand puppets, tell stories, write songs together and encourage your children to explore their imaginations in a fun and engaging workshop.

"I would like to thank you for coming to visit our school on World Book Day 2024. You quickly recognised the special needs of our pupils and understood how each class had different interests and adapted your approach.

Pupils enjoyed the hour workshop which was chunked and appealed to different learning styles.

You introduced your book and pupils enjoyed choosing characters to read about and meeting your crochet characters, which provided a lovely sensory element.

You developed social skills and made the workshop inclusive by getting pupils to create a Squibbles character together as a WAGOLL, emphasising that it is okay to make mistakes and that everyone can be an artist which was great and developed our pupils resilience.

Pupils developed their storytelling skills by coming up with a background and story for their characters and then enjoyed you playing the guitar and making funny songs up about them.

The older children also enjoyed making music and dancing. It was lovely to see the children belly laughing at your puppet and asking him questions – a great way in for children who are reluctant learners, lack confidence and have special educational needs.

A very interactive, fun workshop that pupils engaged well with, developed their ability to create characters, use their imagination and improve their storytelling skills."
